
It is a bit of a misnamed title, but I don't think that stream would give rom hacks a bad image.

He thought the rom hacks would be just as bad, but it turns out they weren't. The reason he called it "terrible rom hacks" is because the same night he did a bunch of terrible Sonic fangames and a few weeks before he did a bunch of terrible Mario fangames. He just had two general complaints: mostly that hacks were dull and not introducing enough interesting things, particularly in the power-ups department and occasionally saying that hacks were too difficult because the author was already too good at the original game. The only ones that stood out were the jigsaw hack demo, keytastrophe not working, and chaos complexx (in separate videos) which he still enjoyed a ton regardless.


If you watched the video he's fairly neutral to the majority of the hacks, and even genuinely liked some of them. Now thousands of people think SMW Hacks are shit because some Youtuber said so. Seeing things like this make me aggressive, aaaa.
